Oxytocin & Dogs

Did you know that dogs and oxytocin have a fascinating connection? Oxytocin is a feel-good hormone, and it gets released in our bodies when we spend time with our furry friends. Our brains release oxytocin when we pet or play with dogs. It is also released just by being in their presence. The release of oxytocin induces feelings of relaxation, reduces stress levels and also promotes the ability to bond and form connections with others.

Exercise & Dogs

Exercise and dogs go hand in paw when it comes time to promoting health. Exercise is often referred to as a natural antidepressant due to its positive effects on mental health. Exercise promotes the release of endorphins, which are neurotransmitters that promote feeling of happiness and well-being. These natural mood boosters can help reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression and improve overall mood.

Dogs as Role Models

Dogs serve as role models for calm behavior in multiple ways. They exude calmness through their relaxed body language and gentle gaze. By observing their behavior, we can learn to adopt a similar state of tranquility.

They also role model mindfulness and living in the present moment. Dogs focus on the here and now, reminding us to let go of stress and anxiety and embrace the present.

Additionally, dogs demonstrate effective emotional regulation by remaining calm in various situations, teaching us how to manage our emotions and respond rather than react.

Moreover, dogs exemplify unconditional love and affection, providing comfort, support, and a sense of security that helps us feel calm and safe.

Lastly, dogs thrive on routine and simplicity, teaching us the importance of creating a balanced routine, prioritizing self-care, and finding comfort during difficult times.
