The Evolution
of
Connections4life
In 2005, I experienced a profound and life-changing event when I stood by my best friend and aunt through marriage, Lorinda during her battle with cancer. In 1995 Lorinda stepped in as my surrogate mother as my mom was grieving the tragic suicide of my oldest sister. Lorinda played multiple roles in my life and my children's lives. The privilege of participating in her hospice care allowed me to connect with her on a deep, spiritual level as she transitioned from the physical world. During those moments, Lorinda made a heartfelt promise to me — that after passing on, she would find a way to let me know she was still with me.
In her final days, Lorinda requested that we hang a paper rainbow across from her bed, which became a source of comfort for her during countless hours of contemplation. Remarkably, on the evening she passed a magnificent rainbow appeared in the town where she left us. Its brilliance even caught the attention of the local news.
Since that poignant day, I have been graced with the presence of numerous rainbows — some of them even unique with double, triple, and even upside-down arcs. These occurrences have kept alive the belief in the profound connection I share with Lorinda, inspiring me to create Connections4life.
Through Connections4life, I aim to honor Lorinda's memory and extend the support, care, and understanding that she provided to me during her time with us. It is my sincere hope that this organization can touch the lives of others, offering them solace and comfort through challenging times, just as Lorinda's presence continues to do for me.

Connections4life Poem
In loving memory of
Lorinda 2005
Red is the line that extends to us all
Orange are the obstacles on which we may fall
Yellow is the light that continues to shine
Green is the unknown that one day will be mine
Blue is the state that sometimes appears
Indigo is the hope that will wash away tears
Violet is the love that transcends all time
Look to the sky and the colors will shine
You gave me a gift that I intend to share
When I opened my heart the connection was there
The colors connect us now and through time
Love lives on and through me you'll shine
Together we'll spread Connections4life
